About The Mary Rose

The Mary Rose sank outside Portsmouth Harbour in 1545 while defending England from invasion, and returned to the surface in 1982 after one of the most challenging archaeological excavations of all time. Her surviving hull lies in its own museum in the Historic Dockyard, with thousands of genuine Tudor objects, from bronze guns to wooden bowls and nit combs.
