About The George Inn
The George Inn on Surrey Street is a J D Wetherspoon pub, open from 8am. It takes its name from an old inn that stood behind a large elm tree at the junction of the High Street and Surrey Street, a landmark until the tree was cut down in the 1820s, and stands at the end of the Broadway, developed in the 1920s.
