Portsmouth Harbour is about an hour and a half from Brighton by train, with one change (National Rail). At the Historic Dockyard you can see HMS Victory, the Mary Rose Museum, HMS Warrior, HMS M.33 and the Royal Navy museums; tickets for a full year allow repeat visits.
