About Netley Abbey

Netley Abbey stands close to Southampton Water, a few miles south-east of the city. It is the most complete surviving abbey built by Cistercian monks in southern England: almost all the walls of its thirteenth-century church still stand, with many of the monastic buildings around it.

Why it's on our list
